I beg to state that the Chief Officer of the British India bteam Navigation Com
pany's S .S. Bulimba came tome onthelst April 1907, reporting that the steamer
had stranded on the Bu Musa island and asking me to notify the Shargah merchaiits
to send lighters to Bu Musa for the purpose of landing the cargoes they had on boara
her, I notified the merchants accordingly. The officer then proceeded to l)et>ai
to meet the Ship^s Agent, Muhammed bin Ibrahim, and arrange for the despatch
of lighters to Bu Musa. I was informed by the Officer that the islanders had not
agreed to render the vessel any assistance unless they received halt the cargo.
The Agent, Muhammed Ibrahim, having asked me for assistance to be tendered
to the steamer, I sent with him my brother, Maaraj bin Abdul Raman to Bu i>la§a
lest the islandrs may do something irregular towards the ship's crew ^ and the cargo,
which it may Be desirable to discharge on the island in order to launch the vessel. J
took likewise a letter from the Chief of Shargah to the islanders^ ordering them to
refrain from raising objections against the ship's crew, and to give them such heip
as they can. However, by God's grace and the Company's good fortune, the sea
remained calm and wave less, while the vessel was stranded until arrangements
'were made for launching her. According to Maaraj's report to me EL M. fo.
Highflyer had visited Bir Musa just as the stranded vessel was being launched.
Thank God, nothing unpleasant occurred in the vessel's stranding, but if a storm
had taken plage, she would have incurred goitye damage having stmndea pn haru
