revenue from the coastal area and from cuetoms and zakat, this
should be quite sufficient to run his state in a fairly sa
tisfactory manner and give him a reasonable income#
It would be a misfortune if the Sultanate disappeared as
the country would almost certainly lapse into a conglomeration
of petty Shaikhdoms - with a few two fairly large tribal
Shaikhs - with whom it would be very inconvenient to deal.
