QiiTiiR (hereinafter referred to as "The Shaikh" which
expression shall where the context so admits be deemed to
include his lawful heirs and assigns) of the one part and
Archibald Hugh Tennent Ghisholm acting on behalf of
Anglo Persian Oil Company ? Limited (Hereinafter referred
to as "The Company" which expression shall where the context
so admits be deemed to include its assigns) of the other
part.
It is hereby agreed between the Shaikh and the
Company in manner following;-
Article 1
The Shaikh hereby granted to the Compo.ny on the
terms hereinafter mentioned the exclusive right throughout
the State of Qatar to explore prospect drill for extract
carry away export and the right to refine and sell petroleum
naphtha natural gases ozokerite asphalt and the derivatives
thereof hereinafter referred to as THE SUBSTiJMCES»
If the Company discovers any minerals other than
THE SUBSTANCES ? such as gold, iron ore, coal etc. ? it shall
have no right to taku possession of the same, but most repoj
the fact to the Shaikh ? and the Shaikh shall have full right
and absolute control over such minerals.
