Samuel Hennell states that on the morning of 22 November 1850, Sheik Houssein embarked on board his bugla Large trading vessel. [ buggalow Large trading vessel. ], which is now lying at anchor in the inner roads. Hennell reports that at about noon, on the same day, a detachment of 200 sirbaz [foot soldiers], under the command of Jaffer Kooly Khan, occupied the fort and defences of Bushire without any opposition.
