Content: Samuel Hennell refers to one of his earlier letters, no. 74, dated 22 July 1850, which regarded accusations made against the Agent at Shiraz, Mirza Mahmood. Hennell encloses a copy of his letter, no. 317, dated 14 August 1850, to His Excellency Lieutenant-Colonel Justin Sheil. The letter is not included here, but it does appear as an individual item earlier in the file (see ff.112-114).
