Justin Sheil transmits two complaints (not included) that have reached him from Sheeraz [Shiraz], regarding the Agent at that city, Meerza Mahmood. Sheil asks Samuel Hennell to establish the truth or falsehood of these claims. Sheil also encloses a letter (not included) which is apparently addressed by the Agent to the Persian Prime Minister [ Mīrzā A title of honour originally applied to princes, later to military leaders, and later still to secretaries, chieftains, and other ‘gentlemen’. Taqī Khān, known as Amir Kabir], although Sheil suspects that it is a forgery. Sheil concludes by requesting that Hennell fine the Agent twelve tomans 10,000 Persian dinars, or a gold coin of that value. for his disobedience and disrespect in response to an order given by Sheil.
