Letter reports the arrival at Bushire of two country ships: the Eliza from Calcutta [Kolkata], and the Khosrowie from Musulipatam [Machilipatnam]. William Bruce goes on to state that he has received from the Broker Often a local commercial agent in the Gulf who regularly performed duties of intelligence gathering and political representation. at Muscat news that Rahma ben Jauber [Rahma bin Jabir] has visited Muscat, where he has entered into engagements with the Imam [Sa‘īd bin Sultān Āl Sa‘īd]. Bruce speculates on Rahma ben Jauber's intentions, based on information received from the Broker Often a local commercial agent in the Gulf who regularly performed duties of intelligence gathering and political representation. .
