The letter is acknowledging the receipt of a circular (No 226 of 1822). In response, it states that the general books for the Bushire Residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. for the year 1820/21 have been transmitted to Bombay, and that the books for the past official year will be drawn up once the Resident has returned to Bushire.
