The letter is informing the Bombay Government that the Resident has received intelligence from Katife [Al-Qaṭīf] and a letter from Shaikh Manjed [Shaikh Manjid], Chief of the Beni Khaled Arabs. The intelligence concerns Turkish reinforcements sent to the Arabian side of the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. and Iraq; it is noted that the reinforcements are under the command of Hossain Pasha An Ottoman title used after the names of certain provincial governors, high-ranking officials and military commanders. [Ḥussayn Pāshā].
