The letter is an acknowledgement of Kemball’s earlier letter (folio 201) relating to the imposition of an arbitrary fine by Shaikh ‘Abdullāh bin Sultan of Sharjah on one of the town’s Banyan Merchant of Indian extraction. merchants. Anderson writes that the Government approves of Kemball’s proceedings in the matter.
