The letter is a covering letter, sent in relation to the piracies committed in the Gulf by Humeed bin Mujdell, and enclosing a letter no.155, sent to Anderson by G. Edmonstone, the Secretary to the Government of India, dated 12 January 1855. In the letter, Edmonstone writes that the Governor General in Council approves of the Kemball’s proposed actions against Humeed bin Mujdell.
