Letter regarding the ongoing work on the telegraph line and the need for another line via Gwadur [Gwadar], Bunder Abbas [Bandar Abbas], Shiraz and Teheran [Tehran] in order to join up with the Russian telegraph system.

The letter goes on to discuss the delays that have been occuring in message going from England to Kurrachee [Karachi] via Constantinople [Istanbul] and the difficulties in checking lost or mutilated messages.
