The letter concerns the reconciliation effected between Shaikh Sultan ben Suggur [Sultan bin Saqr] of Rasel Khymah [Ra’s al-Khaymah] and Shaikh Abdoollah bin Rashid [‘Abdullāh bin Rashid] of Amulgavine [Umm al-Qaywayn], and the renewal for twelve months of the Maritime Truce on the Arab coast. Hennell requests Brucks to send a vessel to the Arab coast to ensure that the peace is observed. Appended to the letter is a copy (folios 3-4) of the Maritime Truce.
