The letter is an acknowledgement of Dow A term adopted by British officials to refer to local sailing vessels in the western Indian Ocean. 's letter of the previous day. Woodly states that it will not be safe to imprison John O'Heale on the Udny , as he has threatened the lives of Woodly and the other officers. Woodly asks that O'Heale be forwarded to the civil authority at Bombay to answer the charges being brought against him by Rowland Terry, chief officer of the Udny .
