The letter is an acknowledgement of receipt of Bruce's dispatch dated 5 February 1820, adding that the Honourable Acting President in Council permits Bruce to visit the Presidency The name given to each of the three divisions of the territory of the East India Company, and later the British Raj, on the Indian subcontinent. .
