The letter is an acknowledgement of receipt of Jones’s earlier letter (folio 188) relating to his commendation by the British Ambassador at Constantinople [Istanbul], Lord Stratford de Redcliffe. Anderson writes that the Ambassador’s comments are much to the satisfaction of Government.
