The letter is related to Kemball’s explanation to the Court of Directors The London-based directors of the East India Company who dealt with the daily conduct of the Company's affairs. of Bombay (folios 20-21), of the impunity enjoyed by the slave traders on the Arab coast, in contrast to the success of measures against the slave trade into Persia. Kemball encloses with his letter (not included in the file) extracts of paragraphs 3 and 4 from his reply to the Government of Bombay From c. 1668-1858, the East India Company’s administration in the city of Bombay [Mumbai] and western India. From 1858-1947, a subdivision of the British Raj. It was responsible for British relations with the Gulf and Red Sea regions. , which he believes will be of interest to Murray.
