Content: The letter is a response to questions raised by the Court of Directors The London-based directors of the East India Company who dealt with the daily conduct of the Company's affairs. in a court extract (IOR/R/15/1/143, f 325) over efforts to suppress the slave trade in the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. . Kemball regrets that he did not explain in more detail why the slave trade on the Oman coast has been continued with impunity, as a result of his concentrated endeavours to suppress the trade on the Persian coast.
