Translation of the proclamation signed by Felix Jones, Political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. with the Field Force and Resident in the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. , originally written in Persian and read to the inhabitants of the Island of Karrack in the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. [Kharg Island, Iran] and then attached to the Gate of the Fort for information. The proclamation is missing the first folio, and starts from point 4, listing rights and duties for the inhabitants of the Island, seized by British forces on 3 December 1856.
