POPULATION AND CHIEFS.
The population of the several Arab towns is constantly varying, for
reasons which have been before adverted to. Those of the first class
Aboothabee Shargah, and Ras -ool-Khyma—may be said to contain
from 2 000 to 3,500 houses. Of the second class, Amulgavine, E J™ an '
Debaye and j'azirat -ool-Hamrah, from 1 ,000 to 1 ,500 houses; and the
smaller' such as Khan, Heyrah, Fasht, &c, from 500 to 800 houses.
