head-man of Hafif and
Mariyah as well as of
this place. A fort which
once existed at Khannur
was destroyed by Shaikh
Jasim-bin-Thani of
Qatar in one of his
invasions of Liwah.
The water is brackish and
the depth 2 fathoms or
more. This halting place
is much frequented by
Bedouins passing be
tween Dhafrah and
Qatar, Hasa or Jabrin.
