This file contains correspondence between British officials that is all loosely related to the succession of the rulers of Kuwait and related matters of protocol.
The file also contains a hand-written note of a declaration made by the Ruler of Kuwait, Shaikh Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah.

The papers are arranged in approximate chronological order from the front to the rear of the file.
A First Series file opened in 1921 which was later given a Second Series number and kept in use until 1949.
- Physical characteristics
Foliation: the foliation sequence commences at the inside front cover with 1 and terminates at the inside back cover with 32; these numbers are written in pencil, are circled, and are located in the top right corner of the recto The front of a sheet of paper or leaf, often abbreviated to 'r'. side of each folio. An additional foliation sequence is present in parallel between ff 2-31; these numbers are also written in pencil and circled, but are crossed through.
