The date range gives the covering dates of all the documents in the volume; the minute and reference papers of the Political and Secret Department of the India Office The department of the British Government to which the Government of India reported between 1858 and 1947. The successor to the Court of Directors. in London, which enclose these documents, are dated 1914 to 1918.
