The file chiefly comprises letters received by the Political Agency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, headed by an agent. from Gray, Mackenzie and Company, enclosing articles from vessels at Bahrain, for endorsement by the Agency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, headed by an agent. . Most of the letters have dated handwritten notes, usually made by the Assistant Political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. (A.P.A.), confirming that the endorsements had been signed.
