Correspondence includes a letter from Saiyid Said bin Taimur [Sa‘īd bin Taymūr], Sultan of Muscat and Oman to Captain Tom Hickinbotham, Political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. Muscat, requesting the minting of a new nickel and other sorts of currency at Muscat. Khan Bahadur Ahmed Shubaili, was appointed as an agent on the matter. Charles Geoffrey Prior, Political Resident A senior ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul General) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Residency. in the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. , wrote to the Secretary to the Government of India, External Affairs Department, Simla, requesting that the Bombay Mint may be authorised to undertake this work.
