. ^ know who see this : l s Alhadj Abdarrahman-ibn-Alhadj Muhammed-ibn-
Kazmij o. Lmgah, have had before me three documents of the agreements which were
include J in regard to the leasing of the red oxide mines on the island of Ibn Musa*
between bneikh oalim-ibn-Sultan-ibn-Sakar Alkasimi and Alhadj Hassan-ibn-AIi-ibn-
bamaih ? A odallah~ibn-IIassan*ibn-Samaih 5 and Isa-ibn-Abdallatif. These aforesaid
agreements are legal and valid according to what is customary in our town and in the
laod oi Iran and in the land of Oman, and according to the practice of the Arabs in
urns region, and (also) according to commercial law these documents are valid and
Dmdrng, and no one has a right to cancel these documents. And to make the matter
clear I give here the dates of the three documents: the first is dated 18 Dulkade,
5, the second is dated 1 Rebi I, 1316 [?J and the third 12 Shaban. 1316, In view
oi the^ witnesses who are mentioned in the documents, and in view of the signature of
bneikh Salim-ibn-Sultan, the documents are valid; according to commercial law, Alhadj
Hassan-ibn-Ali-ibn-Samaih and his partners have the use of the said island in accordance
with the agreement
ABDARRAHMAN JBN-MUHAMMEMBNKAZIM.

Annex 21.
In the name of God the Highest!
Yes, we have examined the agreement which (was concluded) between the
honoureci Sheikh Salim-ibn-Sultan and Alhadj Hassan-ibn-AIi-ibn-Samaih. And we
have found the agreement valid and binding, and
a right to pronounce its cancellation and nullity.
Let it be known to all men !
ABDALLAH MUHAMMED HASSAN ALKHADJA.

Annex 22.
In the name of God I
Let all know who see this, whether Moslems or others : I, Abdalmuhsin-ibn-Ahmed
Almushari, Arab, inhabitant of Lingah, merchant, have had before me the document of
the agreement, dated 18 Dulkade, 1315, which (was concluded) by Sheikh Salim-ibu-
Sultan-ibn-Sakar Alkasimi, with Alhadj Hassan-ibn-Ali-ibn-Samaih and Abdallah-ibn-
Hassan and Isa-ibn-Abdaliatif, in regard to the leasing of the red oxide mines of the
island of Abu Musa.
And we have seen that the» document is valid according to the commercial law
in force in the land of Oman, and according to the practice of the Arabs (prevailing)
in these regions and in the land of Oman.
The said document is in force and valid.
ibn-Sultan has no right to cancel the agreement.

had before me the document of the agreement, dated 18 Dulkade, 1315, which (was
eoncluded) by Sheikh Salim-ibn-Sultan-ibn-Sakar Alkasimi with Alhadj Hassan-ibn-
