This file contains strength returns from units of the Indian Army, the British Army, and the Royal Air Force in British India, as well as forces deployed in Persia [Iran] (covering South Persia, Southeast Persia, and the E[ast] P[ersia] Force), the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. ports, and Aden, issued by the Adjutant-General in India.

The strength returns detail the number of personnel serving with military branches and individual units as of 1 February 1924, grouped under the following categories:
