In view of the following facts, viz. ? That 5th Composite Division is now
arriving at Baghdad. That it is reported that 36th Division is following it and is
due to arrive in Baghdad 2nd week in January. That the 17th Division also
may be following. That there are at the present moment in front of Townshend
four Divisions, viz., 35th, 38th, 45th and 51st. And that the concentration is
reported on the Euphrates line of the 26th Division, that is a total possible
concentration against me within the next two or three months of eight
divisions.
In view of the above, I must ask that another two divisions be sent to me
as soon as possible, otherwise I may again have to fight without any reserves.
