Correction to "General Instructions, Leave, 1918."
Delete para. 6, and substitute the following :—
(a) . BritishOther Ranks. —All British ranks, other than officers, will-disembark at Bombay and
will proceed direct to the locations mentioned below :
CavalryTo Poona Leave Camp. |
Royal Artillery and Machine Gun Companies.— |
To Deolali Leave Camp.
Infantry. —To the Reserve Battalion (India) to
which their Battalion is affiliated.
Royal Engineers.—All Royal Engineer ranks
(including Inland Water Transport) serving with
Royal Engineer formations to the Royal Engineer
Training Company. Bangalore, Royal Engineer
soldiers of Sapper & Miner Corps, or men of other
arms of the Service attached to Sapper & Miner
Corps should be sent to the depot of the Sapper
Corps to which they are attached overseas.
Signal Service, British.—To the Signal
depot, Poona.
Royal A rmy MediCal Corps.—To be attached
to the Royal Army Medical Corps depot at
Deolali.
Assistant Surgeons to report to the Assistant
Director of Medical Services (Distribution) at
the port of disembarkation
Army Service Corps.—To be attached to the
Army Service Corps depot at Bangalore.
• Miscellaneous Details.—To Poona Leave
Camp.

Indian All Ranks.—Those shewn in the table below will proceed on arrival in India direct to
the depot of the unit to which they are attached overseas. Those belonging to depots located in the
1st, 2nd, 3rd and 1th Divisions and Karachi Brigade, to disembark at Karachi ; those belonging to
depots located elsewhere to disembark at Bombay : —

Imperial Service Troops
Labour and Porter Corps
Syce Corps
Mule Corps
Camel Corps

(ft). All Indian combatants and non-combatants (excepting followers) belonging to the following

The Railway and Inland Water Transport personnel to their Railway depot at Dada or Marine
Camp.
(c) . Sub-Assistant Surgeonsto report to the Assistant Director of Medical Services (Distribution)
at the port of disembarkation.
(d) All other Indian miscellaneous establishments, not mentioned above, including all men
belonging to Army Bearer Corps, Army Hospital Corps and Dressers to proceed to special Leave
Camps in the vicinity of Bombay and Karachi.
(e) All followers should return to the depot marked on their pay books

The papers are arranged in approximate chronological order from the front to the rear of the volume.

Physical characteristics

Foliation: this file consists of two physical volumes. The foliation sequence (used for referencing) commences at the first folio of volume one (ff 1-188) and terminates at the last folio of volume two (ff 189-378); these numbers are printed and are located in the top right corner of the recto The front of a sheet of paper or leaf, often abbreviated to 'r'. side of each folio. The foliation sequence does not include the front and back covers of the two volumes. The sequence contains one foliation anomaly, f 308a.
