We have some 900 other ranks enlisted in 1914 entitled to demobilization.
They should if transport is ayailable leave Basrah by July 28111.^ I wish to
avoid their detention on lines of communication m this country or m Bombay
in hot weather. Please give date by which shipping will arrive Basiah. there
would be a further 3,000 to leave Basrah by August 28th. this demoralization
is consequent on special Army Order June ^7th.
