4. Intelligence. Fersia. —Wasmuss, who is in the hill country some
40 miles east of Bushire, is reported to
have lost all his influence and to be en
tirely discredited.

Bushire. —On 27th January Kazarun was occupied by the Bushire column
7275 and Nian Kutal (about 20 miles east of
Kazarun) by troops from Shiraz. There
was no opposition. Nasir Diwan reported 22 miles south-east of Kazarun
with a large following was bombed by aeroplanes and his following dis
persed.
Posts have also been established at Ful-i-Agineh and the Kutal-i-Dukhter
7583 pass, between Kazarun and Mian
Kutal.

7. Turkestan and Meshed. Folicy. —Owing to the danger caused by
the opening of communication with Tashkend through Orenburg and the
8625 feeble efforts made in Trans-Caspia to
provide Russian personnel, General Malle-
son with the concurrence of the Trans-Caspian Government now proposes to
arm the Turcomans. General Malleson has also received from the Amir of
Bokhara a request for 40,000 rifles The Amir guarantees to place 15,000 men
in the field against the Bolsheviks if the rifles are sent him. General Malleson

Merv Front. —There has been no change in the situation on the Merv
Front. Some anxiety has naturally been
caused by the opening up of the Oren

Much snow has fallen in Trans-

ment in advance.
All cavalry to he contracted at front, including squadron from Aska-
