P. and B. T. School is now being closed temporarily. I propose to send
Acting Captain Ashley Smith, Superintendent (vide Secretary, War Office,
1781 M.S.I.A. (N. R. W. S.) January 28th) to Aldershot to learn latest
methods of instruction in Physical Culture returning to Baghdad by Ootober
when Physical Training School will reopen. Ashley Smith is officer of
Indian Army on probation and has not completed period of 10 months’ pro
bation though as an A. R. O. he has served over one year at Depot and
over 1 year with Unit in Mesopotamia, his C. O. reports that he is suitable
for retention in Indian Army. Please wire approval.
