A copy of a letter from James Short, Surgeon at the Bagdad [Baghdad] Residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. , to Harford Jones, Resident in Bagdad, sent from Bagdad and dated 29 December 1801.

In response to Jones’s letter of 25 December (catalogued as IOR/L/PS/9/76/209), Short agrees to inform any member of the Government of Bagdad requesting medical treatment that such requests must be made via Jones.
