I think onoe he is down at Clmh Kaaimha, your people and the Kashkulis
should have no trouble till the spring, beyond c nr.plaints to Tehran. Eor that
I suggest you should prime your representative in Tehran with the fact" so that
he may keep a “ stiff upper lip” to anything the Persian Government may
pass on from Soulat (after all the Persian Government are beholden to the Com-
pany for royalties, and I suppose you have a big stick there)
Bud now that Soulat is so cock-a*hoop, 1 think it would be unwise for you

Biruzabad or Jirreh. I think you had better wait till he passes Shiraz on the
spring migration, when within a few miles of Shiraz he will have to be circum
spect, and you will be on firmer grounds for arguing : as he will no doubt try
to make you upset the Kashkuli agreement altogether.
Meanwhile we must pray for a change of thh “nationalist” wind at j
Tehran, and a chance of All Khan being marie Ilkhani The paramount chief of certain tribes in south west Iran. as Qawam wants,

site and would perforce have had to ask Kashkuli Khans to furnish them.
He resents the tone of the telegrams from Qawm-us-Sultaneh to himself,
which was in nature of a rebuke, for they were founded on misrepresentations
