and weather
At 3 washed away part of the lee
quarter gallery
Sun set do wind and weather, all
hands at the pumps
Midnight,light wind and seas; sound
ed in 30 fathoms
Day light, made the land between
Cape Ramos and St George’s Island.
At 6 anchored in 8 fathoms water,
with 2 feet of water in the hold, to
repair damages, to enable us to get
to Bombay
Noon, decreasing breeze with cloudy
weather. Cape Mayon NNW^W
Cape Ramos south and by east
St George’s Island N W
Pump’d the ship out dry, making
10 inches^ °f water per hour at
anchor
Latitude observed, 15° 19' North.
Remarks. Tuesday,’April 20th, 1847.
P. M. Crew employed at the pumps
4h, Moderate gale with heavy squalls
of wind and rain; carpenters em
ployed fitting a top mast cap for
rudder, brace on the stern port,
seacunnies repairing sail for bending
