All material and barges for the ferry and connecting
lines are available in the country* excfut some shore girders
which are available in India. It is hoped to get & ferry of
some eort eetabliehed before the dismantling of the ktt line
oommenoea, in order to facilitate transhiur-ent of material.

their siting and layout will # therefore, be based on the
assumption mentioned in (3) above, via that both gauges are
under the same administration.
The exieKing temporary shops at lEUAIBAH, Aut and
Baghdad consist mostly of temporary buildings of mud 4** brick,
but there are two shops at 2EDAXBAB whioh will be moved
eventually.
Suitable shedding for new shops was ordered early
in 1918 and was arriving when hostilities eeuBed, and was
never erected; this shedding and the Chuaibah shops will be
smple for the central shops for sometime to come. Its
ereotion will be ta. en in hand as soon as the design of
layout is complete and the land is acquired. Sufficient
machinery for the equipment of the central shops is available
in the country including that now at Shuaibafe, kut and Baghdad.
The completion of thee© shops is of the utmost
inroortunoe to the future efficiency of the whole aystern, but
it must be at least IS months before they will be in a position
to any work and their completion will probably take 2 years.
(6) Station buildings and Soods sheds.
Bon© exist at present, save a few buildings of mud
and brick. Approximately 75 wayside stations besides
