The file contains an Administrative Report and ten Annual Reports issued by the Government of Bahrain for the period 1926-46, with a small quantity of interspersed India Office The department of the British Government to which the Government of India reported between 1858 and 1947. The successor to the Court of Directors. covering letters, minutes and correspondence. The reports bear manuscript annotations.

The correspondence includes letters dated May 1941 from the Political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. , Bahrain (Reginald George Evelyn William Alban) and the Political Resident A senior ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul General) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Residency. in the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. (Lieutenant-Colonel Charles Geoffrey Prior) commenting on the causes of public disaffection in Bahrain and discontent with the local administration (folios 319-327); and a further letter from Prior dated 1945 concerning allowances made to the ruling family of Bahrain (folios 19-22).

Folios 3-26 are minutes and correspondence dated 1942-47, and are not in chronological order.
