Agreement of the Chief of El-kutr (Guttur) engaging not to commit any
breach of the Maritime Pecce, 1868.
I, Mahomed bin Sanee, of Guttur, do hereby solemnly bind myself in the pre
sence of the Lord, to carry into effect the undermentioned terms agreed upon
between me and Lieutenant-Colonel Pelly, Her Britannic Majesty’s Political
Resident,

1st .—I promise to return to Dawka and reside peaceably in that port.
2nd .— I promise that on no pretence whatsoever will I at any time put to sea
with hostile intention, and in the event of disputes or misunderstanding arising,
will invariably refer to the Resident.
3rd .— I promise on no account to aid Mahomed bin Khalifeh, or in any way
connect myself with him.
If Mahomed bin Khalifeh fall into my hands, I promise to hand him over
to the Resident.
5th. —I promise to maintain towards Shaikh Ali bin Khalifeh, Chief of Bahrein
all the relations which heretofore subsisted between me and the Shaikh of Bahrein,
and in the event of a difference of opinion arising as to any question, whether money
payment or other matter, the same is to be referred to the Resident.
Dat*d on the 24th of J emadi-ool-awul 1285, corresponding with the 12th of Sep
tember 1868.

This part relates to the Government of India's decision to issue a revised edition of Aitchison's Treaties (full title: A Collection of Treaties, Engagements and Sanads Relating to India and Neighbouring Countries ), with revised narratives for each geographical area covered, incorporating the principal events that have occurred since the publication of the previous edition in 1909.
The part contains two copies of proofs for the following revised narratives: Treaties and Engagements Relating to the Arab Principalities in the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. (ff 305-328 and ff 617-640) and Treaties and Engagements Relating to Oman (Muscat) (ff 406-422 and ff 641-657). Also included are copies of related treaties, agreements, and correspondence for the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. (ff 329-405 and ff 540-616) and Oman sections (ff 423-477 and ff 485-539), which cover the periods 1806-1927 and 1798-1928 respectively.
The proofs are accompanied by interdepartmental correspondence discussing the contents of the narratives, and the possibility of amendments and additions being made, such as for the parts entitled 'The Wahabis and Nejd' and 'Kuwait' in the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran. section.
