With reference to your despatch No. D2-A.T/30. of December
24th last concerning the revision of Aitchisor.'s Treaties, I have
the honour to return herewith the proof of the Persian Narrative,
which appears to have been brought up to date recently and does
not therefore call for amendment except for the few man additions
suggested in the enclosure to this despatch.
2. I would point out in this connection that the delay in returning
these proofs was due to the statement contained in your despatch
No. D2-A.T/30 of September 1st to the effect that His Majesty-s
Government had decided to defer publication till the edition could
be amplified with references to the impending Anglo-Persian General
Treaty.
5. With regard to the withdrawal of the Indo-European Telegraph
Department from Persia on March 1st next, you are doubtless aware
that it has not yet been possible to come to an agreement with ^
the Persian Government regarding the terms on which the few out
standing questions( such as t*t of the Gulf Cable Stations) are to
be settled. It may, therefore, seem parable to hold over referenc

This part relates to the Government of India's decision to issue a revised edition of Aitchison's Treaties (full title: A Collection of Treaties, Engagements and Sanads Relating to India and Neighbouring Countries ), with revised narratives for each geographical area covered, incorporating the principal events that have occurred since the publication of the previous edition in 1909.
