obligation which His Majesty's Government might find it
extremely difficult to implement in the not improbable
event of Ibn 3aud endeavouring to extend his influence
eastwards by absorbing some of toe Persian Oulf
principalities. This objection had been communicated
to the Government of India, who had replied, pointing
out that any undertaking given by Ibn 3aud in the Treaty
could not have the effect of increasing His Majesty's
