9. After examining the contracts made with Mr. de
Greniere and Captain Thomas (of Muscat), I find it necessary
to recommend a higher rate of salary than I had proposed in
London as I do not think tn&t Mr. Leigrave’s remuneration
should he less than Hr. de Greniere f s.
To a certain extent the Financial Adviser and
Personal Assistant to Shaikh Hamad will he the Customs
Director’s superior officer.
10. I therefore propose xk for Mr. Belgrave the follow
ing terms
