Dispatch No. 101 from the East India Company Envoy to Persia [Iran], Lieutenant-Colonel John Macdonald Kinneir, to George Swinton, Chief Secretary of the Government of Bengal From c. 1758-1858, the East India Company's administration in Bengal. From 1773-1833, the most senior of the three subdivisions of India, also known as the Supreme Government of India. From 1858-1947, a subdivision of the British Raj. , sent from camp near Aleabad [Aliabad] and dated 29 May 1828.
Macdonald Kinneir forwards a letter from the Count of Erivan [Yerevan] [General Ivan Fyodorovich Paskevich-Erivansky, Governor-General of Georgia] for the attention of the Governor-General of Bengal.
This document was originally enclosed in Macdonald Kinneir’s dispatch No. 36 to the Secret Committee Pre-1784, the Committee responsible for protecting East India Company shipping. Post-1784, its main role was to transmit communications between the Board of Control and the Company's Indian governments on matters requiring secrecy. of the Court of Directors The London-based directors of the East India Company who dealt with the daily conduct of the Company's affairs. of the East India Company of 5 October 1928 (IOR/L/PS/9/71/262).
