1942.
Present,
The King’s Most Excellent Majesty in Council.
His Majesty, in pursuance of subsection (2) of section four
of the Emergency Powers (Defence) Act, 1939, and of all other
powers enabling Him in that behalf, is pleased, by and with the
advice of His Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered,
as follows: —
1 . Any person contravening any provision of any Defence
Regulation made by the Political Resident A senior ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul General) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Residency. in the Persian Gulf The historical term used to describe the body of water between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran.

I 939» being a provision which requires persons to continue in
their employments, may be apprehended, tried and punished
therefor in the United Kingdom as if he had contravened the
provisions of a Defence Regulation contained in the Defence
(General) Regulations, 1939, as respects which no special pro
vision had been made as respects the trial and punishment of
„ offences.
2. —(1) This Order may be cited as the Defence Regulations
(Employment Abroad) Enforcement Order, 1942.
^(2) The Interpretation Act, 1889, shall apply to the interpre- 52&53Vict.
ion of this Order as it applies to the interpretation of an Act c - 6 3 -
of Parliament.
