The file contains weekly statements showing purchases and sales of gold and silver received by the bullion brokers operating in Bahrain, often in Arabic with English translation. The reports are produced to comply with an order from the Political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. in Bahrain for all the bullion brokers to produce a weekly report showing purchases and sales of gold and silver (see IOR/R/15/2/357).
