The letter gives an account of recent exchanges between the Company's fleet off Kharg Island and the Meer's [Mīr Muhanna] men, specifically a surprise attack by the latter on a unit of sepoys Term used in English to refer to an Indian infantryman. Carries some derogatory connotations as sometimes used as a means of othering and emphasising race, colour, origins, or rank. that were collecting water from the Corgo [Khargu], Kharg's smaller island neighbour. The authors stress the need for the Caun [Karim Khan] to fulfill his promises to send troops in assistance. As a postscript, there is a list of the numbers of dead, wounded, and missing.
