Letter regarding Dr Abraham Nickson Hojel joining Pelly as the residency An office of the East India Company and, later, of the British Raj, established in the provinces and regions considered part of, or under the influence of, British India. surgeon and regarding British subjects at Muskat who are of the opinion that the advice that they can return to Muskat at their own risk came from Pelly and not from the Government of India.

The letter also proposes that Pelly use Berenice to visit his agents and return Clyde to Kurachee [Karachi], regarding his Afghanistan journal and his thoughts on Sir John Lawrence and his policies.
