Letter enclosing further information on the results of Pelly's enquiries into the statements made by William Gifford Palgrave.

The letter also gives an update on the cotton crisis and regarding the importance of the progress of Russia in Central Asia.

The letter concludes by informing Layard that his report on his journey to Riyadh had been submitted to Government with a request that a copy by forwarded on to him.
