Letter requesting Pelly return a report on proceedings in Hindustan which Merewether had written for John Jacob, along with some accompanying correspondence relating to it from Jacob and Sir Henry Bartle Edward Frere.

The letter also informs Pelly of the birth of his son (Edward Marsh Merewether) and informs Pelly that both his wife and the baby are doing well.
