Letter forwarding a telegram from the Commissioner in Sind regarding adopting precautionary measures at Gwadar and asking Pelly for his thoughts on the matter. Pelly's response can be found on folio 53.
- Enclosed telegram from the Commissioner in Sind, Kurrachee [Karachi] to the Chief Secretary of Government, Bombay forwarding a telegram from the Assistant Political Agent A mid-ranking political representative (equivalent to a Consul) from the diplomatic corps of the Government of India or one of its subordinate provincial governments, in charge of a Political Agency. at Gwadar reporting on the popular feeling in Gwadar that matters in Maskat [Muscat] may impact on them, his concerns over the agent to Sayed Soulem [Salim II bin Thuwaini] at Gwadar and how to handle matters as he is not aware what the Government's policy is towards Soulem. The telegram goes on to request either a War steamer to provide protection for Gwadar or to be given answers to his points outlined above in order to know how to respond to and deal with Maskat.
