Content: Covering letter enclosing extracts of paragraphs 45 and 46 of a despatch from the Honourable Court of Directors The London-based directors of the East India Company who dealt with the daily conduct of the Company's affairs. (f 126), dated 21 January 1852. Paragraph 45 states that the towns of the Guttur [Qatar] coast (Wukrah, Doah, Fowarait) have been required to pay compensation of 1000 (later 900) Crowns for acts of piracy committed by the pirate Soheil bin Aleish. Paragraph 46 states that the Chief of Bahrain has taken the responsibility for paying this compensation.
